About UW Professional & Continuing Education
UW Professional & Continuing Education serves professionals seeking career change, career advancement or development of personal interests. We partner with academic units throughout the University of Washington to offer 125 certificate programs, 35 master’s degree programs, bachelor degree completion, courses, workshops and more – all spanning more than 75 fields.
Our programs are designed with the specific needs of working adults in mind, with an emphasis on:
- Convenience through evening, weekend and online options
- Practical, real-world knowledge that can be immediately used on the job
- Relevant content that is taught by UW faculty and top UW-approved industry professionals in touch with the latest developments in the field
To ensure we provide the highest quality education possible, every program administered by UW Professional & Continuing Education is developed in partnership with a corresponding UW college, school or department. In addition, each program uses an advisory board to review content, guide design and recommend updates to ensure the program remains current as the field of study evolves.
UW Professional & Continuing Education is managed under the umbrella of University of Washington Educational Outreach (UWEO), the UW unit that administers UW Summer Quarter, programs for international students and more. Our programs are fee-based and self-sustaining (not state-funded).
