Glenise McKenzie
RN, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, Oregon Health and Science University, Ashland Campus
Glenise McKenzie has been a faculty member at OHSU since 2006. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Washington State University and her Masters and PhD in Nursing from the University of Washington. Dr. McKenzie is passionate about promoting and maintaining the mental health of older adults. She teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing courses in the areas of mental health, gerontology, ethics and leadership. She has worked as a nurse in the areas of gerontology and psychiatry for over 20 years. Her work experience includes a wide variety of settings and a range of positions (from CNA to staff nurse to administrator). Her research is focused on system level issues affecting the health and safety of direct care workers and residents with dementia of long term care settings.
