ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To apply, you must:
- Be willing to fully commit to the program by attending weekly classes, occasional 1:1 meetings and have the time to complete homework assignments, including photography shoots
- Have a basic understanding of how your camera and lenses function
- Be familiar with the Exposure Triangle
- ISO sensitivity
- Aperture for controlling depth of field
- Shutter for freezing or recording motion
- Be familiar with camera settings
- Automatic and program mode
- Aperture priority mode
- Shutter priority mode
- Manual exposure mode

Time Commitment
Including time in class, you should expect to spend about six to eight hours each week on coursework, and sometimes more when preparing portfolio projects.
English Proficiency
If English is not your native language, you should have at least intermediate English skills to enroll. To see if you qualify, make sure you are at the B2 level on the CEFR self-assessment grid. To learn more, see English Language Proficiency Requirements – Noncredit Programs.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
- Digital dSLR camera that can be set to manual exposure mode and RAW file format, and access to the user manual, printed or as a .pdf on your phone
- At least one wide-to-medium zoom lens, or two prime lenses, for landscape, portrait and close-up photography
- A sturdy, portable camera tripod that extends to your standing height
- Portable USB hard drive of at least 4TB for storing your growing photo collection
- Access to a computer with a recent operating system and web browser
- Adobe Creative Cloud photography plan that includes Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC software
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- High-speed internet connection, fast enough for Zoom screen sharing
- Headset and webcam
