Prepare for PMI^® Certification

University of Washington Professional & Continuing Education is a PMI^®Authorized Training Partner and is approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI)^® to issue professional development units (PDUs) and contact hours for coursework. PDUs can help you maintain PMI^® certifications, while contact hours may be used to fulfill the education requirements for a variety of PMI^® certifications. PMI^® reviews all contact hours at the time of application. 

For help preparing for certification exams, consider taking our Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)^® Exam Prep and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)^® Exam Prep courses.

Get Hands-On Experience

• Use project management tools such as the cloud-based software Smartsheet (free license provided)

How It Works & Next Steps

This certificate is offered in multiple cohorts throughout the year, giving you flexibility in how and when you learn. All cohorts complete the same three courses in the same order.

Before registering, choose:

• A learning format: Asynchronous (no scheduled class meetings) or synchronous (real-time online class meetings). Learn more about which online learning format is best for you.

• A start date and cohort: Cohorts begin at different times throughout the year. Cohorts with the same learning format may have different start dates, instructors and, for synchronous cohorts, class meeting days.

1. Review the cohort options below and choose the one that best fits your schedule and learning preferences.

2. Note the section number for Course 1 (for example, PROJECT3102604OA_A1). You’ll need this to identify the correct section when you register.

3. Select the Course 1 link for your cohort and follow the registration steps. Verify the section number in your cart matches your chosen cohort before checking out.

4. In future quarters, you’ll register for courses 2 and 3 through the UW Continuum College student portal.

Apply for a Scholarship
