Applied Agile Management: Certified ScrumMaster & Product Owner

This course will explore management practices in the agile world, with a focus on Scrum. Scrum is a software product development approach harnessing self-organizing teams and empirical process control to evolve plans with the reality of delivery cycles. Scrum is a simple framework with three roles, short iterations called Sprints and demonstration of a potentially-shippable product increments each iteration. This course will dive deep into the why of agile and look at effective ScrumMastering and what it takes to be a good Product Owner for a Scrum team. Elements like building and motivating the team, measuring velocity, team estimation and conflict resolution are in the ScrumMaster portion. Techniques to help customers prioritize, ways to manage the product backlog and when to say “ship it” are in the Product Owner section. This course will be co-taught by two agile practitioners, one of whom is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST).
