Catalogs, Cataloging and Classification (LIS 531)

Develops an understanding of library catalogs as information retrieval systems. Introduces library cataloging and classification. Focuses on principles and standards in the creation of catalogs and cataloging records. Includes practice in descriptive and subject cataloging and classification. The emphasis of this course is school library media resources and services; includes user perspective and developments in technical services.
