Cloud Computing Fundamentals

The first course introduces the historical context and current practice of cloud computing. We will present the economic drivers and underlying technologies of cloud computing, and compare the major vendors in this space. We will conduct hands-on activities with multiple platforms. We will hear from several guest speakers ranging from data center experts to engineers at startups who build and manage cloud-based applications to enterprise IT managers who operate private cloud infrastructures.
