This is a beginning level course which provides an overview of revenue cycle management for the health care manager. Revenue cycle management builds upon health care data principles, and identifies the provider and payer roles in ensuring facilities are reimbursed accurately for the services provided. The concepts of health care insurance are discussed in terms of three types: voluntary health insurance, federal programs and managed care. Various federal government prospective payment systems are discussed.
