Social and Cultural Aspects of Aging (UCONJ DL442)

Draws upon material from many of the social sciences to examine the range and variation in institutions, attitudes and cultural values related to aging. This course emphasizes social and economic factors that influence elders in different cultures. Students learn about the effects of ethnic and sex differences on aging and cross-cultural variations in the perception and treatment of the aged.
