Solid Digital Modeling & Parametric Design

Continued work with Rhinoceros plus the addition of Grasshopper, a visual scripting interface for Rhino which allows for the development of parametrically defined models. Development of comfort levels with the design of simple parametric systems, applications for fabrication and automation of focused aspects of the digital design process.

Topics include:

• Modeling of parts and assemblies
• Developing an understanding of parametric relationships and their impact on the flexibility model to adapt to change
• Exploration of patterning, variation, and generative geometry
• Some use of rapid prototyping technologies
