Transportation Choices & Technology
In this course, you will explore the range of sustainable transportation choices for both people and goods. You will review passenger modes of transportation including bicycles, single-occupancy vehicles, car and van pools, shared autos, bus, rail, ferries, trolleys and foot travel. Transit design and planning for passenger facilities will also be covered in this section of the course. The other major focus of this course is the movement of goods. You will learn about the supply chain in Supply Chain 101. Various freight modes, including trucks, trains, ships, barges and pipelines, and the regulatory approaches to each of these modes will also be discussed. You will also review the range of freight facilities, such as waterways, airports, terminals and tracks.
