Course Description

Zoological Illustration

UW Seattle, Classroom, Autumn 2012

W, 10/10 - 12/12, 2012, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Cost: $659 | 3 CEUs

Students begin to develop an understanding of the principles and procedures for a systematic approach to the production of accurate scientific illustrations. The focus is on life histories or metamorphic stages as well as the structural diversity of the shell and exoskeletons found in the animal kingdom. Course fee includes specimen samples. Digital illustration techniques will also be taught in a Mac computer lab, with open lab access time during weekends.

Guest speakers include Mike Anitas and Charles Wood (subject to change).
