Take a Free Course Online

The University of Washington has been offering online learning through UW Professional & Continuing Education for more than a decade, from single courses to full certificate programs. Along the way, we’ve developed a number of free online courses. Here are a few great ways that you can keep learning – on us!

Self-Paced Learning

We’ve created 15 free online courses to introduce you to a variety of general interest topics, from American history to HTML. All of these courses are available year-round. So start anytime. Go at your own pace. And do it all for free, from the comfort of wherever you happen to be.

The Next Wave in Online Learning

To expand access to higher education, the UW has partnered with two of the largest providers of massive online open courses today: Coursera and edX. MOOCs are a dynamic way to learn, giving people everywhere free access to courses taught by top professors from some of the world’s leading universities.

The wide array of MOOCs available means there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to further a career goal or pursue a personal interest. Each MOOC runs on a set, 10-week schedule; advance registration is required. See what the UW has to offer on Coursera and edX.
