Acceptance into a credit UW Professional & Continuing Education certificate program does not constitute admission to the University of Washington. However, the credits earned may be applied toward a degree should a student be admitted to and matriculate in the university at a later date.
Undergraduate: For information about transferring credits toward an undergraduate degree or to schedule an advising appointment, call Advising at UW Professional & Continuing Education, 206-543-6160.
Graduate: A person can earn a credit certificate as a graduate non-matriculated (GNM) student and then apply the credits earned in the certificate toward a graduate degree, if accepted to a graduate degree program. However, a matriculated student cannot first be accepted into a graduate degree program and then earn a certificate for the same coursework. Once a graduate degree student, he/she can no longer earn a certificate for taking the same courses. For advice about transferring credits toward a graduate degree, contact the graduate coordinator in the appropriate UW school or college. Contact UW Graduate School.
