About this Course

This course builds on the scientific illustration skills you developed in previous courses. You’ll learn to apply careful observation and measurement skills to classifying, identifying and depicting botanical subjects with scientific accuracy. We’ll concentrate on improving your drawing and composition skills and your facility with a variety of tools — graphite and color pencils, pen, ink and watercolor — as you compile a natural science illustration portfolio.

The course includes a required weekend field trip to practice on-site nature drawing and the observation of a variety of plants in different habitats.
