In this course you will learn about designing, implementing and managing applications using cloud-hosted databases. The course will cover technical database concepts, cloud database architectures, and implementation models.

  • Cloud databases and deployment models
  • Consume and manipulate data in cloud databases and include it applications
  • Describe, compare and contrast the major cloud database services across multiple vendors
  • Database offerings from three major vendors (Google, Amazon, Microsoft) and accomplish the following:
  • Create cloud databases
  • Implementing real-time database solutions on multiple vendor platforms
  • Understand security and data protection
  • Understand legal and sovereignty protection issues (contrast differences between database and storage)
  • Learn strategies for migrating data from on-premise to cloud
  • Synchronization, backup and recovery for cloud databases
