About this Course


This course examines theories, process and practical applications of information literacy. Intrinsic themes include the integral relationship between technology and information literacy and continual evaluation. The emphasis of the course is on school library media resources and services. Students design, implement and assess information-rich units of study, integrating information literacy skills with classroom content. State and national standards are examined as they relate to the school library media program.

You will:

  • Critique information processing models
  • Develop and implement collaborative, information-based units of study
  • Evaluate and redesign units, assessment tools and strategies
