About this Course

This course offers an introduction to comparative biomechanics of animal movement, which will help you develop an understanding of surface anatomy as it relates to the underlying musculoskeletal structures. We’ll explore rendering styles that feature dynamic depictions of both internal and external anatomies. You’ll learn a variety of techniques — black and white, color, and digital illustration.

Past guest speakers have included Karen Petersen, a lecturer in the UW Department of Biology, and biomedical illustrator Charles Wood.
