Meet the Instructor
David Donald Pokrajac
David D. Pokrajac is a senior data scientist and tech lead at Boeing, Everett, and holds a Ph.D. in computer science and electrical engineering, and master's degrees in telecommunications and business management. Pokrajac attended Washington State University and Temple University and worked at Advanced Biometrics in Puyallup; VIP Mobile in San Francisco; and for 16 years as a professor of computer sciences at Delaware State University. There, he also served as an associate vice president and was in charge of data analytics and cooperation with the Gates foundation.
Pokrajac's dissertation was in the field of spatial-temporal data mining. His programming experience includes Basic, Fortran, COBOL, Pascal, C, C++, Java, Matlab, Mathematica, SAS, R and Python. He has developed a number of algorithms for machine learning and computational geometry and performed successful research in breast imaging simulation, motion detection and tracking, and classification of spectroscopic data.
Pokrajac has supervised a number of Ph.D., master's and undergraduate students. He currently works on the analysis of manufacturing data and supports various Boeing programs. Pokrajac is an author of more than 130 journal and conference papers, one patent, and has a number of radio and TV appearances.
