Dawn Rains

Chief Policy and Strategy Officer, Treehouse

In her current role at Treehouse, Dawn Rains serves as the strategic and operational leader for program development, implementation, evaluation and communications and marketing. In addition, she is a key internal and external leader and fundraiser for the organization. And, from 2009 to 2012, she was their director of development and marketing.

Rains has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management and fund development. Prior to her time at Treehouse, she was the director of development for the Seattle Repertory Theatre, from 1999 to 2009. In 2013, she became a teaching associate with the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington. She also serves on the board of directors for the Women’s Funding Alliance, a Seattle-based public foundation that invests in justice, health and opportunity for women and girls. Rains holds a Master of Public Affairs and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington.
