Julia Chen
Senior Applied Scientist, Microsoft
Julia Chen has five years of experience building machine learning models at scale. Currently, Chen is a senior applied scientist focusing on information retrieval and search ranking at Microsoft. She makes high-performance, scalable and reliable machine learning applications for natural language understanding (NLU), search ranking and drug discovery.
Previously, Chen worked as a senior machine learning engineer at Capital One and led efforts to deploy digital marketing and the anti-money laundering pipeline. She holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University with a focus on computational biomechanics.
