Meet the Instructor

Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson is certified as a professional wetland scientist. He’s been working in natural resource management as a wetland and wildlife biologist since 1990 and has worked on projects throughout the United States, including Alaska. His interest and focus as a wildlife biologist is in habitat management.

Prior to retiring in 2017, Anderson spent nearly eight years as a wetland specialist and three years as the Wetland-401 unit supervisor at the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Northwest Regional Office. He has also worked as a GIS technician and continues to use GIS as an analytical tool to assess site and landscape conditions. He’s been teaching about wetland delineation, hydric soils and determining the ordinary high water mark for Shoreline Management Act compliance since 2010. Anderson holds a bachelor’s and a master's degree in wildlife science from the University of Washington.
