Meet the Instructor

Susan Jones

Susan Jones’s art has been featured in many local exhibitions, and is represented by Semantics Gallery in Edmonds, Washington. She is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Northwest, and images of her work can be viewed on the GNSI-NW website here: http://www.gnsinw.org/susan-jones.html. She serves as a board member and newsletter editor of The Colored Pencil Society of America's Seattle, Washington chapter, and as a member of the Eastside Association of Fine Arts and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. Her work experience includes her present position as web editor for the nonprofit, Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. Her professional focus has included nonprofit publishing, communications and public relations, most notably at American Orchid Society in Delray Beach, Florida, where she worked as an editor and writer in the publications department. Jones holds a B.A. in Communications from Southern Connecticut State University.

Instructor Statement:

My goal as an instructor is to connect with students and help them cultivate their passion for their art and hunger for learning. I provide the tools to enable them to further develop their artistic skills, reach their individual artistic goals and become effective, independent artists.
