Meet the Instructor
Suzanne Anderson is a professional wetland scientist with more than 20 years of experience in wetland ecology as a regulator and consultant. Anderson previously served as a project manager at the Seattle District Corps Regulatory Branch, where she is now the mitigation program coordinator. In that role, Anderson oversees Wetland Mitigation Banks and In Lieu Fee Programs, and she serves as the Corps Regulatory Branch technical advisor for all things related to compensatory mitigation and wetland delineation.
Anderson’s experience as a consultant includes conducting wetland identifications, delineations, functional assessments and impact assessments. As a consultant, she put a special emphasis on designing, overseeing the installation of and monitoring restoration and mitigation plans for freshwater and estuarine wetlands, riparian corridors and upland buffers. She is a knowledgeable field botanist with experience working throughout Washington, Oregon and portions of Idaho; she has conducted rare plant surveys and plant inventories. Anderson has 20 years of experience in academia and research, earned a Ph.D. in plant physiology and is a proud alumna of the Certificate in Wetland Science and Management program.
