Director of Education, Burke Museum
Tara McCauley works as the director of education at the Burke Museum, where she manages and sets the strategic direction for the museum’s education department, which provides high-quality, outcome-oriented educational programs for youth, educators and families. Prior joining the Burke, she served as the education and youth programs manager at the Museum of History & Industry and as the education curator at the White River Valley Museum. She’s also done consulting work for 4Culture and the Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Association and is an active member of the Museum Educators of Puget Sound and the Museum Education Roundtable. McCauley holds a Bachelor of Art in Art History/Museum Studies from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Education in Museum Education from the University of British Columbia.
