We are accepting priority applications until 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Sunday, August 10, 2025. After this date, we’ll consider applications on a space-available basis until 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
You’ll apply to the program on MyContinuum, our new application system. MyContinuum helps you seamlessly manage the enrollment process and more.
If you have any questions, or want to make sure this program is right for you, reach out to Enrollment Services at enroll@pce.uw.edu or 800-506-1325.
Complete the online application on MyContinuum. You’ll need to create an account first. If you already have a UW NetID, choose that option. Otherwise, sign in with a Google or Apple account.
Submit the materials listed in Step 1. You’ll be prompted to complete this step on MyContinuum.
Next, pay the $50 nonrefundable application fee through MyContinuum. Your application is not complete until you pay this fee.
If you submit an application by the priority deadline, we’ll contact you by August 20, 2025, to let you know if you’ve been accepted to the program. If you submit an application after the priority deadline, we’ll contact you by September 23, 2025, to let you know if you’ve been accepted to the program.
If you’re accepted, we’ll ask you to complete a questionnaire on MyContinuum to help us learn more about you. Then you’ll get details about how to register for your first-term course and pay your course fees.
To ensure your spot in class, we recommend that you register by the priority registration deadline, which is four weeks before class begins. After that time, we may release your seat to another student. The final registration deadline is two days before the course starts.
Admission to this program is competitive. Selection is based not only on meeting minimum application requirements and qualifications, but also on your professional experience and demonstrated intent to complete the entire program.
You must have completed at least four years of college study, or have the equivalent in college credits, or have at least 10 years of work experience in the field of commercial real estate. You must also meet one of the following work experience requirements:
We prioritize applicants who show a commitment to complete the entire certificate program (all three quarters), as networking and developing bonds with other students is an important element of the program. Additionally, the certificate requires completion of a capstone project, a group project that spans all three quarters; it’s therefore disruptive if a student leaves before completing the program.
The application requires a personal statement, in addition to a resume. In the personal statement, address how you intend to complete the entire program through one of the following ways:
This program accepts students from a variety of professional backgrounds related to commercial real estate, including but not limited to property management, brokerage, appraisal, development, investment, construction, architecture, law and finance. The success of this program relies on attracting a professionally diverse cohort that is reflective of the commercial real estate industry. This means that in some years applicants from certain professions will be more competitive than others, depending on the overall applicant mix.
Including time in class, you should expect to spend about 7 to 9 hours each week on coursework.
If English is not your native language, you should have at least intermediate English skills to enroll. To see if you qualify, make sure you are at the B2 level on the CEFR self-assessment grid. To learn more, see English Language Proficiency Requirements – Noncredit Programs.
To enroll, international students must have a visa that permits study in the United States. This program does not enable students to obtain or maintain F-1 visa status. For more information, see Admission Requirements for International Students.
You earn a certificate of completion by successfully completing all required courses. For more information, see Earning the Certificate.
