Meet the Instructor
Dave Dickson is an industry-recognized expert in tooling for composites. He has played a key role in the fabrication of composite parts on seven Boeing airplanes, including the 787 Dreamliner, and has supported several other product development studies. He was inducted as a Boeing associate technical fellow and was named a Boeing designated expert in several disciplines. In 2017, Dickson retired from Boeing, where he worked as a tool engineer and tool engineering manager on both Boeing commercial and military programs. He has led integrated product teams and was also a Boeing lead export focal.
Dickson is also an advisor and co-chair of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers' Composite Manufacturing Technical Group. He has chaired two composites conferences for SME and has chaired, spoken or served as a panelist at many conferences, including SME, SAE, SAMPE, Composites World Carbon Fiber and the Pacific Northwest chapter of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics. He was also honored by SME with the Jud Hall Composites Manufacturing Award.
