Grant Writing

Previous Education & Experience

This is an introductory program and does not require any previous experience in grant writing. Anyone who has an interest in nonprofits is encouraged to enroll. Some experience or familiarity with nonprofits, education, health or government organizations is helpful.

Because this is a hands-on program, you’ll need to find a nonprofit or educational or government organization to work with to complete assignments. Consider organizations where you have a connection — perhaps as a volunteer, board member or employee — or an organization in the community that you’d like to support. Contact the organization before the course begins so you can be ready to start working with them after the first class. If you’re having difficulty finding an organization, reach out to Enrollment Services before the course starts.

Time Commitment

Including time in class, you should expect to spend about five to seven hours each week on coursework.

English Proficiency
