About this Course
This course introduces the fundamental molecular processes that can occur in living cells. Several concepts we'll cover include genome expression, epigenetics, microRNA, intracellular signaling, cell cycle, and cell differentiation and metastasis. You’ll examine reproductive system molecular biology, immunology, the molecular biology of the musculoskeletal system, the human biome and disease. You'll examine experimental study techniques, with particular attention to the development of pharmaceuticals. Case studies illustrate important concepts and show how a breakdown in the proper functioning of these systems may lead to human disease.
Prerequisite: Some undergraduate or graduate coursework in biology
