About this Course
This course introduces the basics of human anatomy, physiology and disease states with an emphasis on understanding the structural, molecular and cellular mechanisms of pathophysiology. We’ll outline the structure and function of major organ systems and several common disorders with specific emphasis on pharmaceutical issues. The course does not cover physiologic and pathologic systems in exhaustive detail, but you should have a basic understanding of molecular and cell biology. By the end of the course you will have a basic understanding of human physiology and common pathologic processes.
Prerequisites:
- A bachelor’s degree
- A course in molecular and cellular biology (undergraduate or graduate coursework in human physiology and biology may be substituted with permission of the instructor)
