The Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) Community Impact Scholarship supports aspiring entrepreneurs who want to create positive, lasting change through small business ownership.
This scholarship recognizes individuals who approach entrepreneurship not only as a career path, but also as a means to strengthen communities, create jobs and build sustainable local economies.
About the ETA Community Impact Scholarship
The ETA Community Impact Scholarship supports learners who demonstrate a commitment to leading with purpose, applying business acumen for social good, and growing enterprises that make a difference.
Scholarship applicants do not need to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for an award; however, the selection committee will consider whether financial need may impact an applicant’s ability to enroll in the course.
What costs does the scholarship cover?
	- Scholarship awards will cover the full amount of the course fees for the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition course.
- Students will be responsible for paying the initial $50 application fee, any additional registration fees, and the costs of any necessary course materials.
- A limited number of scholarships are available.
Who’s Eligible for This Scholarship?
This opportunity is open to all eligible persons regardless of race, sex or other identity. To be considered for this scholarship, you must: 
	- Apply and be accepted to the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition course
- Explain your intention to acquire, operate or grow a small to midsized business
- Demonstrate a clear interest in community, social or local economic impact through entrepreneurship
- Show motivation to learn and lead in ways that contribute to shared value for employees, customers and communities
- Indicate whether the cost of the course presents a barrier to enrolling in the program
How to Apply
STEP 1: Apply to the course
✔ Submit your application to the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition course.
STEP 2: Apply for the ETA Scholarship
✔ Check your email! Within 72 hours of being accepted into the course, you should receive an email with a link to the ETA Community Impact Scholarship application. If not, please reach out to Enrollment Services.
✔ Complete the scholarship application between November 4 and December 18, 2025. The application includes the following short-answer questions (200–300 words each):
	- Your Entrepreneurial Vision: Describe the kind of business you would like to acquire or lead. What excites you about entrepreneurship through acquisition?
- Community Impact: How do you see your future business contributing to your community or industry? What values will guide your leadership?
- Learning Goals: What do you hope to gain from this course, and how will it help you achieve your goals as an entrepreneur or operator?
- Access Statement: Please describe how the financial support from this scholarship would make it possible for you to enroll and participate in the ETA course. 
After you submit your materials, a selection committee will review your application based on entrepreneurial commitment, community impact, alignment with learning goals, and, if applicable, financial need.
✔ Check your email! All scholarship applicants will be notified about scholarship decisions by January 9, 2026.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
	- Scholarship decisions are made by a selection committee determined by UWPCE. All decisions are final.
- Scholarship awards cannot be deferred and are not transferable to other UWPCE programs.
- Scholarship recipients must not have access to financial assistance from an employer to pay for the course.
- Scholarship recipients must sign a Scholarship Agreement within one week of notification.
- Scholarship recipients must meet all deadlines for accepting, registering and paying fees as stated in the Scholarship Agreement.
- Scholarship recipients must not be a UW Continuum College employee or an immediate family member thereof.
