UWPCE digital badges help you showcase your University of Washington education and demonstrate your new skills and competencies.

What's a Digital Badge?

A digital badge is an online representation of your learning achievements and competencies. You can now earn digital badges in many UW Professional & Continuing Education courses, specializations and certificates.

Here’s how to use your digital badges:

  • Showcase Your Skills: Post your badge to highlight your achievements and skills on social media, career profiles, job applications, resumes and more.

  • Share a Verifiable Credential: Employers and learning institutions can use your badge’s unique embedded data to easily validate the education and skills you gained at UWPCE.

  • Build a Portfolio: Collect multiple badges to demonstrate your knowledge and professional development as you continue learning.

Achievement Badges

Many of our certificate programs, specializations and courses award digital achievement badges. The achievement badge means that you met all requirements and successfully completed the program. Certificate programs typically offer a badge for both the program and each of the courses. Check the program page to see if the program you’re interested in offers a badge or badges.

Skill Badges

Several of our courses offer skill badges. Skill badges testify to your competency in certain skills or topics covered in the course. You can earn a skill badge by scoring above a certain threshold on key assessments in the course. Check the course page to see if the course you’re interested in offers a skill badge.
