Meet the Instructor
Al Hirsch is the managing director at CTARCo International. He recently completed an assignment by introducing TinMan Systems' fully autonomous Artificial Intelligence Neural Network application to agencies and research bodies of the U.S. Government. Previously, he served as project manager for California's aqueduct control system upgrade in Sacramento. Prior to that, he was retained by the Energy Reliability Council of Texas as the program manager for the 3-year Texas nodal energy implementation and market management systems upgrade for the state of Texas. Earlier, he completed a major 4-year assignment directing the North America contracts management, national procurement, quality and operations group for AREVA, a large multinational nuclear energy company.
Hirsch has served as COO and CFO to several startup companies. An experienced instructor and thesis adviser, he holds a BSEE from Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Executive Management from Pepperdine University. He has also completed graduate studies in management at the University of Pennsylvania. For nearly 20 years, he has served as adjunct instructor for the University of Washington School of Business. He also teaches for UCLA and has served 14 years of teaching at City University’s Graduate School of Business and Management. In 2003, he was awarded City University President’s Distinguished Instructor Award, and in 2017 Hirsch won the Distinguished Teaching Legacy Award for his work with the certificate programs.
