Cristian Pop

Software Engineer, Microsoft

Cristian Pop is a software engineer focused on networking, embedded devices and their security. He graduated from the Politehnica University of Bucharest and has worked in the computer industry for 15 years.  

He first started working with embedded systems in college, where he led the winning team of the 2006 Microsoft Windows Embedded Student Challenge. Afterward, he started working at ITC Networks/Trapeze Networks, where he wrote code for embedded network appliances. After joining Microsoft, he worked on SysInternals tools, Windows Intune, Windows Networking, .NET Networking and is now a member of the Azure Internet of Things group. 

Pop researched with the National University of Singapore and has a master's degree in computer science and a certificate in embedded and real-time systems programming from the University of Washington. Pop is also a member of the University of Washington Certificate in C# Programming advisory board.
