Daniel Krenz

Senior Regulatory Project Manager, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Dan Krenz is a senior regulatory project manager with the Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). He holds a Master of Natural Resources degree and graduate certificate in geographic information systems from Oregon State University.

Krenz started his career with the Corps in 2013, serving as a regulatory project manager with the Norfolk District in Virginia. In addition to issuing permits under the Clean Water Act and Rivers and Harbors Act, Dan has served as a national instructor for the Corps’ PROSPECT training for Wetland Functional Assessments and Fundamentals of Wetland Ecology, as well as a regional instructor for the wetlands delineation course.

His areas of interest include functional assessment models, mitigation banking, treaty rights, regulatory jurisdictions and environmental education. With the Seattle District, Krenz serves as the subject matter expert for overwater structure permitting and mitigation in Puget Sound and tribal treaty issues. In his spare time, Krenz serves on the Board of Directors for the Nisqually Reach Nature Center, where he’s been an educator and grant writer since 2008.
