Dean Syta

Professional Engineer – Civil, Mechanical, Environmental

Dean Syta is a licensed civil, mechanical and environmental engineer. He has more than 33 years of civil engineering and cold regions utility engineering experience in Alaska, primarily in water and wastewater distribution, collection, pumping, treatment and disposal. Syta's projects have included schools, health clinics, and water and wastewater systems for more than two dozen rural communities across the state. He works with the State of Alaska Village Safe Water Program, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, and he's consulted on projects in Mongolia, Canada, Guam and Micronesia. 

Currently, he's working on power transmission planning projects for the State of Alaska, and hydropower and fish habitat projects for the City of Anchorage. Syta has a master’s degree in civil engineering science from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
