Diane H. Hennessey
Ecologist/Scientist III, Environmental Protection Agency
Diane Hennessey is an ecologist/scientist III with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Puget Sound Recovery National Program. She’s worked on aquatic habitat protection and restoration for more than 20 years. Her experience includes scientific studies, field studies, and policy analysis and development to support wetland science and restoration, salmon recovery, habitat restoration, and human well-being.
She’s currently working as part of a coalition of partners seeking to accelerate habitat restoration in the Puget Sound Basin. Hennessey previously served as a wetland specialist/policy lead with the Washington State Department of Ecology. She worked as a field biologist and project manager for environmental consulting firms for more than a decade, and for more than 17 years, has been teaching for the Certificate in Wetland Science and Management program. She earned a master’s degree in conservation biology and environmental science from the University of Wisconsin.
