Lisa Carlson

Database Administrator & Data Visualization Design Specialist

Lisa Carlson is an experienced database administrator and data visualization design specialist with a background in nonprofit technology and data-driven decision-making. Carlson integrates analytical rigor with strong design principles to help students go beyond displaying data toward approaches that clearly communicate insight and meaning.

She’s passionate about teaching the fundamentals of good design and building a solid foundation that students can apply in real-world contexts. Carlson is a graduate of the UWPCE Certificate in Data Visualization and has been part of the program’s instructional team for many years. She holds a master’s degree in information management with a concentration in business intelligence from the University of Washington.
