Meet the Instructors

Michael Mohaghegh

Ph.D.

Mohaghegh has worked as a principal lead engineer, manager and FAA designated engineering representative Boeing. Presently, he is a Boeing technical fellow in Advanced Structures and Materials. He has 38 years of experience in designing and analyzing commercial aircraft (707,737,747,B1,767,777) and developing technology standards. He is the developer and instructor for design and analysis, finite element, and fatigue and fracture courses at Boeing.

He has also taught at airlines, suppliers and universities in the U.S. and abroad. Mohaghegh received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in structural engineering. He has published papers in the Journal of Applied Mechanics, Journal of Aircraft, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, International Journal of Mechanical Engineering Education and the Boeing AERO magazine.
