Nancy Salguero Mckay

Curator of Collections and Exhibits, Highline Historical Society and Highline Heritage Museum 

With the Highline Heritage Museum currently building a new museum, Nancy Salguero McKay’s duties as curator include preserving the stories of the Highline region through community engagement with programs and exhibits. She’s also responsible for collections care and management that includes the supervision of volunteers and interns. She has designed and installed more than 55 local history exhibits for the Highline area, covering multiple cities and communities, including Burien, SeaTac, Normandy Park, White Center and part of Des Moines. Her awards include an Award of Exhibit Excellence from the Washington Museum Association, the Exhibit Award from the Association of King County Historical Organizations and the 2013 President’s Volunteer Service Award. 

Salguero McKay has been giving bilingual presentations around Washington state on community engagement promoting diversity with exhibits and collections care. She's served on multiple nonprofit heritage and cultural organizations boards and is part of the 4Culture Heritage advisory committee and the Washington Museum Association’s registrar’s to the rescue team.
