R. Sean Bethune

Enterprise Architect, Fred Hutch Cancer Center

Sean Bethune is a senior data strategist and enterprise architect with more than 20 years of experience designing large-scale predictive systems. Currently at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Bethune partners with research and clinical teams to apply modern data architectures, deliver effective care and accelerate cancer breakthroughs.

A veteran educator, Bethune has spent more than a decade as an instructor for UW Professional & Continuing Education, where he’s taught database programming, health care administration, and data science. His career spans the health care ecosystem, including leadership roles at Sound Physicians, Providence and Premera Blue Cross. He’s currently pioneering the integration of generative AI within life sciences, with a specialized focus on knowledge graphs and semantic web technologies to unlock complex clinical insights.
