Meet the Instructors
Tomasz Lukasz Religa
Tomasz Religa has more than 15 years of experience in analyzing and modeling scientific and customer data, including minimization, predicitve analysis, time series modeling and machine learning.
Religa is a senior data scientist at Microsoft, where he focuses on building "Intelligent Features" within Office. These features use machine learning to learn from other users' actions to help save them time and get better results. Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked for Amazon Web Services on their anomaly detection system and capacity modeling.
Religa earned his B.A. in computer science/natural sciences and his Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Cambridge, where he researched physical properties that control protein folding. Prior to teaching at the University of Washington, Tomasz lectured at Case Western Reserve University and carried out research at the University of Toronto.
