Bringing the UW Experience to Southeast Seattle
Bringing the UW Experience to Southeast Seattle

Are you a Southeast Seattle resident looking to develop your database skills to start — or jump-start — a technical career?

If so, we’re here to help — with a scholarship opportunity and a new learning space in Southeast Seattle.

Registration is now open for Foundations of Databases, the first course being offered at the new Othello-UW Commons, a multifunctional partnership space in the heart of Southeast Seattle that embrace’s the UW’s commitment to learning from and with local communities.

To make the course more accessible to Seattle residents living on low incomes, a new scholarship is available that will cover 80 percent of tuition for 15 students this spring. Scholarship applications are due March 1, and applicants will be notified of their status by March 15. Preference will be given to residents of Southeast Seattle.

Foundations of Databases is a 10-week introductory tech course for adult learners that begins on April 11 and provides students with a broad and general understanding of the technical concepts underlying databases.
