In the last academic year, more than 45,000 learners in Washington state and around the globe advanced their knowledge through University of Washington education, thanks to programs supported by UW Continuum College.
That global reach is among the highlights in Continuum’s 2023 Impact Report: Forward Together, which showcases milestones and momentum on initiatives designed to help all Washington residents access the education they need to thrive.
Continuum has served as a community bridge to UW education for more than 100 years. The 2023 Impact Report details how Continuum works today to extend the UW’s impact by delivering innovative education that meets the needs of learners in an ever-changing world.
Impact Report Highlights
In the 2022-23 academic year, 94.9% of certificate graduates said they learned skills to help them grow professionally through Continuum-supported programs. Another 2,400 students earned graduate degrees through fee-based degree programs.
Rovy Branon, vice provost of UW Continuum College, notes that last year’s accomplishments also included expanding technology, programming and new partnerships, such as a collaboration with the Professional Development Center (PDC) at UW Tacoma.
“This partnership allows us to expand our reach to Pierce County, which aligns with our efforts to work as a tri-campus catalyst for extending UW education throughout our region and state,” Branon says.
Other highlights from the 2023 Impact Report:
- More than 3,700 working professionals gained career skills and knowledge through UW Professional & Continuing Education courses, certificate programs and specializations — all backed by Continuum’s student support teams, learning designers, and a wide range of local and state industry experts.
