About this Program

When creating games for desktop, mobile, console, virtual reality and other digital platforms, building a prototype is a key step in the game development process. Game designers use a prototype — a working model of a design — to sketch out narratives, build game mechanics and gather feedback from playtesters. Today, many digital game creators build games and rapid prototypes using game engines such as Unity, a popular drag-and-drop visual editing software.

In this one-course specialization, you’ll use the Unity game engine to develop a limited scope 2D game prototype from scratch. Learning directly from experts, you’ll gain skills in modeling, animation, scripting, interface design and storytelling. You’ll also learn to use logic to think like a programmer as you produce interactive media experiences.

Designed For

Designers, developers, entrepreneurs or others with basic coding experience who want to enter or advance in the game industry.
