About this Course


This class enhances creative photographic expression while strengthening technical skills. Through discussions, demonstrations and frequent guidance, you’ll explore "seeing," storytelling, experimentation, style and how to overcome creative challenges. Assignments encourage problem-solving and skill-building in perception, creativity and technique. Photo reviews and one-on-one sessions with the instructor support your learning.

You’ll learn professional Adobe Lightroom Classic workflows from A to Z, working with RAW captures and other file types. We'll cover importing, organizing hard drives and files, precise and creative developing, retouching, masking, AI-driven features, and how to export files for online or printed use. You’ll propose a themed photographic project and work throughout the quarter with guidance to produce a series of six related images for final presentation and review.

Guest photographers, artists and program alumni will share insights on the creative, technical and business aspects of photography.
