About This Course
In this course, you’ll learn about developmental communication and swallowing disorders, specifically the nature, primary causes and common clinical approaches used to assess and treat them. You’ll explore the speech-language pathology profession and discuss the professional practices and issues related to the clinical services provided by SLPs. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of clinical service delivery approaches within the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model.

How to collect assessment data, determine if treatment is warranted, and plan and deliver treatment for a variety of evidence-based approaches
How to assess, treat and document cases and client skills
Professional and ethical issues related to clinical service for developmental communication and swallowing disorders
