About this Course

This course immerses students in the trajectory of working as a certified professional guardian (CPG) for  vulnerable clients. Using robust client case studies, you’ll learn how CPGs collaborate with the courts, clients, social service agencies and other professionals. The course focuses on developing skills to help you make thoughtful decisions, organize care efficiently and communicate effectively with the courts and other notice parties through required documents.


  • Best practices for enabling CPG clients to live full and meaningful lives
  • The steps, systems, timelines and regulatory requirements in the guardianship and conservatorship process
  • How to collect and synthesize client information and write plans and reports that are comprehensive, well-organized and literate
  • Strategies for navigating the social and health service system of benefits
