About this Course


Turning data into clear and actionable information is a major challenge for many organizations today. In this course, you’ll dive into technical data visualization skills, such as data prep, calculations and advanced interactivity concepts, so that you can create dynamic visual representations to help guide business decisions. You'll review business case studies and apply the visualization theory and storytelling skills you learned in the previous two courses of the certificate. You’ll also hear from industry experts about how they use data visualization in their careers, which will provide you with a deeper understanding of the data field.

  • Data prep and cleaning techniques; basic and table calculations; and advanced interactivity concepts such as sets, set actions, parameters and parameter actions
  • Ways to select and apply data visualizations to support various business scenarios
  • How various data experts use data visualization to succeed in their roles
  • How data visualization fits into the world of analytics and business intelligence 

Get Hands-On Experience

  • Complete weekly assignments preparing data and calculations to create visualizations that inform specific organizational decisions
  • Conclude with an in-class final project in which you’ll build start-to-finish analyses by collecting your own data, cleaning it and evaluating it
