About this Course


This first course in the E-Learning Design & Development certificate program explores the essential elements of design for e-learning environments. Identify the best approaches for designing the e-learning environment for your practicum project.

Topics:

  • Selecting appropriate technology and course structure to achieve learning goals
  • Using current learning and instructional concepts to organize distance learning units
  • Setting instructional objectives and matching them to instructional approaches
  • Providing interaction in web-based and online environments
  • Ensuring that students are motivated and that they have the skills needed to function in a distance learning setting

 

Program Overview

We offer this program in two formats: a regular version consisting of four courses over three quarters, and an intensive version consisting of four courses over two quarters.

Learning Formats

Online

Courses are offered 100 percent online. The flexible online format allows you to access course content wherever you are, on your own schedule. You simply need to complete assignments by their due dates. Lessons, assignments and other course materials are delivered through a Web-based learning management system, such as Canvas or Moodle, which also serves as a hub for communicating with your instructors and classmates.

Blended

Our special blended programs combine the convenience of online study with the vibrancy of in-person classes for a unique learning experience.

Attend class in person at one of our convenient locations. You’ll engage face to face with your classmates and instructors as part of a highly interactive curriculum. An online learning management system may be required to access some course materials and assignments.
